Dinner at Gioco

We went to Gioco a month ago when we were in Chicago and were very impressed with the food and atmosphere. We started off with caprese and the buffalo mozzarella had a wonderful rich flavor. The greens were crisp and the tomatoes made us think it was August instead of February. We had such a great start to the meal, and we were both pleased with our orders – I ordered gnocchi and Bryan ordered veal. My gnocchi was delicious in a creamy tomato sauce, and Bryan’s veal was perfectly trimmed, butchered and prepared. We finished with a trio of sorbet, which was deliciously grouped, and an after-dinner drink. We chose a bottle of Rutherford Hill Merlot 2002 to accompany our food.
