An Afternoon in St. Helena

On our trip to Napa and Sonoma, we stopped by St. Helena to check out a few places downtown, including WoodHouse Chocolate. The chocolates at WoodHouse Chocolate are outstanding and we had tried a piece of chocolate with wine at Rombauer Vineyards, rivaling chocolates from Europe. In the words of Bryan, the truffles we had were a “nine out of ten.” A definite must-stop for chocolate lovers. Bonus – some of the chocolates are sold online.

After stopping for a truffle, we decided we should grab some lunch. We walked down the street and saw the Market Restaurant. It was a rainy, chilly day and the lunch menu offered a perfect variety of brunch options for our group, including Banana Bread French Toast. As soon as I saw the menu, I knew what I was going to order – the Adult Mac n’ Cheese, which is a tasty combination of aged Fiscalini Cheddar, Parmigiano-Reggiano, bacon, herbs and topped with panko breadcrumbs. The dish was absolutely delicious and the best way to describe the taste is to imagine a bowl full of soft Cheetos. As you can see from the image below, I could barely eat it…look for a future post as we try to recreate the recipe.
